Who are Panacea from Brighton
Panacea is a Brighton grunge band making music for people tired of pretending everything's fine.
We formed because we needed to scream about the world we're living in‚ economic anxiety, mental health crises, social media damage, the crushing gap between what we're told life should be and what it actually is. Music was the only outlet that made sense.
We're not here to offer solutions. The album's called "Remedies for Nothing" for a reason. But we're here to offer something real‚ honest expression of what it feels like to be young, working-class, and struggling in 2025.
We're not asking you to fix anything. We're offering you space to feel what you're actually feeling, without judgment or toxic positivity.
That's what Panacea is. That's what we do.
Welcome to the grunge revival. It was just waiting for the right economic collapse.
What Panacea from Brighton are about
### Authenticity over image
We don't curate our aesthetic for Instagram. This is who we are.
### Community over competition
Brighton's music scene thrives when bands support each other. We're not competing‚ we're building culture together.
### Honesty over comfort
We won't tell you everything's fine when it isn't. Toxic positivity helps no one.
### DIY over industry bullshit
We release our own music, book our own shows, maintain control over our art.
### Accessibility over exclusivity
Our music is on free streaming platforms. We're not gatekeeping.
### No compromises. No selling out
No pretending everything's fine.
Brighton gave us the space to exist. Unlike London where rent costs make art impossible, Brighton still offers (relatively) affordable creative spaces where musicians can actually breathe.
The city's DIY venues‚ The Green Door Store, The Hope & Ruin, The Mash Tun‚ provide stages for music that doesn't fit commercial radio formats. The community supports authentic alternative culture. The audience understands that grunge isn't retro fashion‚ it's necessary response to living in a fundamentally broken world.
We're part of a Brighton grunge revival, but we're not alone. There's a genuine scene here‚ bands supporting each other, venues taking risks on aggressive music, audiences who want catharsis over entertainment.
